History of Highlands Project in iMovie

-use iMovie to describe and show the historical transformation of the Highlands area

* narrate the story with your voice - must be clear!
* use historical photos from Denver Public Library photo collection
* search for highland with date earlier than 1950
* use custom music from garageband
* include old and current photos of these places: (current photos taken by you and also taken from web):

* Woodbury library
* Lumber Baron inn (formerly the John Mouat home)
* North High School (need first picture of North High from 1888)
* Denver from the air (1933) and Denver now (google)
* Highland Park (old photo: entrance to highland park from 1903)
* Asbury Methodist Church, Denver (old pic from 1882)
* 32nd Avenue at Mead, Denver (old pic from 1910)
* one picture of your own choosing



Peer review bios of historical figures (B-Project1 tab)

1) Evaluate classmates biographies of historical people. List: subject, author of movie, significance of subject, rating (1-10, 10 being highest). Do this in a MS Word table.

2) Also write a summarizing paragraph about all the bios; write about the subjects, the most memorable bio, and any advice you have for the authors.

Put both on one page, title it: iMovie Bio Critique, and put in Projects tab in Binder when done.

* You are responsbible for at least reviewing 7 movies of your peers.
* Location: Courseware/resources/webapps/Rich Media/P1 or P3_Bios_iMovie;

o copy movies to local! not desktop

Project: A Day/Week in the life

All students:

New Project: compose new iMovie about your day or week using iMovie; your movie should show us what happens on your day or during your week; movies will be posted to internet

* Create a new iMovie project - save in Local! Name: student_name_day
* opening title
o Transitions - use wisely

· narration with your voice (voice must be clear and audible)

o Yes, I want to hear your voice!

· music - at least 10 seconds of original music made in garageband

· credits page listing who made the movie and others who helped

· Pictures:

o use Ken Burns effect on at least 5 pictures

o use transitions between all photos (can be the same transition)

o use at least one effect on a picture - don't overuse effects!

o use enough pictures to get your message across

o allow pictures to show for at least 4 seconds

o Use pictures from the internet if you need to help tell story
